How tuition works

What sets your membership, what it covers and how to end it.

  • What sets tuition

Your plan depends on who is training (an adult, a teen, a child or a family) and how many classes a week. The figures are on our enrollment page and at your first class, in writing, before you agree to anything.

    • Adult, teen, kids' or family plan

    • Classes a week

    • Gi, No-Gi or both

  • Registration

A joining fee, when we charge one, covers your enrollment file and your first gi and belt. It is due when you sign up, and the amount is on the enrollment page.

  • Holding a place

A place in a kids' or teen class is held once your first month is set up. When a class is full, you join its waitlist and we offer places by text, in the order families asked.

  • Billing

Monthly, collected automatically on the day you choose through our members' portal. To change a card or a day, send the front desk a message.

  • Siblings

A second family member is set up under one agreement. Ask us how it works for your household.

  • Withdrawing

Adult plans run 12 months, then month to month; teen and kids' plans are month to month. To cancel, write to us with 30 days' notice, by email or at the front desk. The month in progress is billed. We can pause a plan for travel, injury or a new baby; ask before you go.

  • Missed classes and make-ups

If you miss a class, come to another class at your level the same week. There is no make-up to book.

  • Uniforms, belts and other costs

A gi, belts, promotions, seminars and event entries exist as separate costs, and each is priced on the enrollment page. Ask at your first class which ones you need.

Ask us anything about a plan

Your first class is a good time to talk it through, in English or Portuguese.
